11 years in energy basin critical infrastructure. Co-founded Colorado's first wireless ISP. Currently modernizing field communications for a major energy operator.
Scope¶
The work spans IT, OT, and RF — designing and maintaining the communications backbone that keeps remote energy production running. Operational experience covers the Piceance and Uinta basins, supporting assets built or operated by ExxonMobil, XTO, Encana, Marathon, BRE, Caerus, Oxy, and Anadarko.
Current focus: field communications for a major energy producer. Radio backhaul, SCADA networking, automation systems, and the infrastructure that connects wellpads to control rooms.

Operating Philosophy¶
This isn't a generalist wearing multiple hats out of convenience. Each domain feeds the others:
- Networking provides the transport layer for SCADA and RF backhaul
- RF extends that transport to locations fiber will never reach
- OT/SCADA is the payload — the actual control systems that depend on reliable connectivity
- M&A transitions stress-test everything at once under compressed timelines
The integration point is the value. Anyone can configure a switch or tune a radio in isolation. The hard part is making all of it work together when the wellpad is 40 miles from the nearest pop, the terrain blocks line of sight, and the cutover deadline was yesterday.
